Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil is extracted from the leaves of the Melaleuca
Alternifolia species of Tea Tree using a chemical free process called steam
distillation which is a particularly pure form of extraction. It is important
when buying any Tea Tree product to ensure that it uses oil derived only from
the Melaleuca Alternifolia species because this is the one for which all the
scientific data applies. All products marketed as Tea Tree Oil are not necessarily
the genuine article.
Tea Tree Oil is a powerful healing substance with strong antiseptic properties.
It can penetrate through the skin and reach otherwise inaccessible sites such
as under the fingernails, and is also an effective fungicide, killing the
organisms that cause tinea, ringworm and candida. Many hospitals now use Tea
Tree Oil because its proven action against methicillin-resitant staphylococcus
aureus (MRSA) can lessen the possibility of infection.
